Volunteer Opportunities

Announcement: Volunteer Opportunities

08/06/09

Curious about the modern and contemporary public art on campus? Want to get involved? If so, then volunteer with Landmarks, the university’s public art program.

Students can gain experience with the university’s premiere public art program in two ways: by becoming a Landmarks Docent or a Landmarks preservation intern. Both provide opportunities for students to become engaged, informed, and to build valuable work experience.

If you are a student and fascinated by significant trends in twentieth-century art, then join the Landmarks Docents and meet people who share a passion for art. Docents learn about modern and contemporary art in the Landmarks collection and develop touring skills to engage visitors.

Intrigued by being behind-the-scenes? Become a Landmarks preservation intern and learn to maintain world-class public art, including sculptures from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Preservation interns develop useful skills in the maintenance of original works of art, earn program certification, and contribute to the beauty of public spaces on the main campus.

In addition to students, Landmarks welcomes volunteers with skills in areas such as education, project management, design, technology, development, publications, and public relations.

Not an expert? Not a problem. Landmarks can find creative ways to take advantage of your support. There are ample opportunities for volunteers to share time and expertise with the university’s public art program and enhance the main campus by making it a more beautiful and engaging place.
