Untitled (Seven Mountains) relocated to the Cockrell School of Engineering

In May, Ursula von Rydingsvard's Untitled (Seven Mountains) was relocated from Bass Concert Hall (where it had been sited for the past 14 years) to Ernest Cockrell Jr. Hall in the Cockrell School of Engineering. This sculpture is made from construction-grade cedar beams that von Rydingsvard doweled together, carved with a chain saw, and finished with a rubbing of powdered graphite. By restoring an organic appearance to the milled lumber, the artist practiced a creative act of reengineering.
