Paws for Public Art
Launched in 2023 to celebrate Landmarks 15th anniversary, Paws for Public Art promotes wellbeing by providing mental health breaks with art and animals. This annual event partners with the Longhorn Wellness Center to help alleviate stress each spring during university midterms. In the inaugural year, miniature goats, hedgehogs, bunnies, chicks and piglets were brought to campus with petting zoos stationed at four iconic works from Landmarks’ collection.
This year, Paws for Public Art returns March 12 with petting zoos hosted at: Clock Knot, Monochrome for Austin, Circle with Towers, and Square Tilt. A specialized mobile tour on Landmarks App will offer insights into the art and animals, guide visitors through exercises and meditations, and provide an array of mental health resources.
Paws for Public Art is always free and welcomes the public.

Animal Welfare
Landmarks is deeply committed to animal welfare. The petting zoos participating in Paws for Public Art uphold the highest standards of care, exceeding those required by the USDA’s Animal Welfare Act. At community events, animals from Tiny Tails to You and Fannie’s Farm Friends are treated with respect: they are provided with ample shade and fresh water, and are carefully rotated to ensure no animal experiences stress or prolonged handling.
Both businesses work closely with local veterinarians, who conduct regular health checkups and provide specialized care when needed. Older, retired animals live out their days at the farms where they were raised or are placed with trusted local farmers or residents. Importantly, neither Tiny Tails to You nor Fannie’s Farm Friends is associated with any agricultural industry or corporation, further emphasizing their dedication to ethical animal stewardship.
Landmarks is happy to partner with Tiny Tails to You and Fannie’s Farm Animals on this event.
