New Music Season at Landmarks

Landmarks

Landmarks announces the 2025-2026 lineup of its signature music programs, Songs in the Skyspace and Listening with Landmarks. The programs offer unique opportunities to explore Landmarks’ collection of modern and contemporary art through a musical lens.

Listening with Landmarks features playlists by Austin music notables, curated in response to works from UT’s public art collection. Songs in the Skyspace showcases a diverse mix of voices and instruments, with monthly performances inside James Turrell’s immersive Skyspace, The Color Inside. The programs are proudly sponsored by KUT/KUTX and KMFA, respectively.

Listening with Landmarks

Listening with Landmarks launches its seventh season with a playlist by Pelvis Wrestley. Led by Benjamin Violet, the band blends synth-pop and country to create a genre-bending sound that has earned critical acclaim for its emotional depth, vivid storytelling, and bold visual style. For their playlist, the band responded to Prometheus and Vulture, a sculpture by Koren Der Harootian, with tracks from Kate Bush, Bjork, St. Vincent, and others.

In the following months, playlists will be released from R&B star Grace Sorensen; guitarist Jeremy Baker from TIGERS EYE; Bluegrass-Americana duo The McKinleys; neo-soul art rock band lluvii; singer-songwriter Somebody Someone; cellist and Butler School of Music professor Bion Tsang; jazz singer Sarah Sharp; Latin pop band Chicoselfie; and dreampop band keepsake.

The playlists cut across musical genres to include jazz, rock, Classical, Tejano, folk, R&B, and country. One playlist is released each month and is available on Landmarks’ websitesocial media channels, and on Spotify

Through Turrell’s masterful manipulation of light, the sequences cause the sky to appear in unimaginable hues. Among Austin’s most celebrated cultural destinations, the Skyspace is visited by more than 75,000 people each year.
