During 40 Hours for Forty Acres, UT Austin's bi-annual giving campaign, Landmarks is raising money to conserve and reopen James Turrell's The Color Inside. Running September 22nd through September 23rd, the campaign is an essential step to reopening the space.

Landmarks received a national CODAaward for its commission, Eon , by Los Angeles-based artist Jennifer Steinkamp. The award marks Landmarks’ fifth recognition from CODAworx.

Recently, Landmarks sat down with Claire Eddleman-Heath, a designer with  Asakura Robinson, to discuss the landscape architecture of the newly renovated Anna Hiss Gymnasium courtyard, home to Simone Leigh’s Sentinel IV. Our discussion covered the process behind designing the courtyard space, the influence of Leigh’s sculpture on the design, and the sustainability of the landscaping selected.

We recently sat down with Ali Wysopal, a Master’s Candidate in Historic Preservation at UT’s School of Architecture and Landmarks’ Collections Assistant for the past two years. Wysopal recently completed her tenure with Landmarks and will soon be headed to New York for a fellowship with the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Our Q & A follows.
